New Fences

I have been working in the Brushwood Fencing Industry since 1984, and learnt the art of hand making brushwood fences in the North Shore Area.  Brushwood Fencing is very labour intensive, and can take some effort to build and construct, but the result is a prestigious fence that goes very well with a leafy and contemporary courtyard or backyard.

A lot of councils see it as a hedge, and this can assist in getting approval. We need to stay ahead of legislation changes that may affect customers. For instance there has been a change where owners of pools are required to register with the state government by the 29 Oct 2013 and may have an assessor to assess that the pool is pool-safe.

The material used grows in the National Forests, and a lease is granted to cut the Melaleuca Tea Tree Brush which then regenerates. That is why this type of fencing is specific to Australia. It has a very native Australian feel, and creates a yard that has a very natural look.

We specialize in constructing your brushwood fence the way you request it. We can create a new fence to the shape or size of the land, and can construct it to any height you wish. There is an easier way to build a brushwood fence that uses pre-made panels, this saves time and labour, but it does not have the aesthetics that a prestigious handmade fence has.

The longevity of one of our fences is determined by the density of the wood, and the way it is packed. The basic structure is made from a galvanised steel frame, and wire that is clipped up to give its strength and durability. It has a treated pine base that is long lasting.  Then the brush is woven in between the wires, the top and bottom are cut, and the roll top is created.

A new brushwood fence usually has a life span of over 30 years, depending on its construction. This is dependent on the environmental conditions e.g. very hot sun can have a greater impact on the fence compared with a fence that is under trees. Of course this has the same impact other fences that are made from natural materials as well.

Our main aim is to give people a handmade fence that is personally made to fit the contours of the property. The photos that you see are my own work, and this is the quality of work you will get.  We take pride in the work that we do, and hope that after many years you will ring and ask me for further services, and also tell your friends.
