Reason for Repairs

Because brushwood fencing is a natural product, it does need to be maintained.  This is similar to timber fences that need to be re-nailed or have palings replaced. I have repaired brushwood fences that were over 30 years old, which shows that the lifespan of a brushwood fence can be very long.

The material used, Melaleuca Tea Tree brush, is very dense and has a high oil content, which is the main reason for its long lasting attributes.  A brushwood fence can last a long time, depending on how well it was constructed. The time frame before you need a repair, is also dependent on the degree of weathering.

The density of the fence, when initially packed, and the type of brushwood e.g. fresh new brushwood are most important. The wires and clipping spacing should be no more than 250mm apart, and the tension of the wires should not allow any movement after the job is done. Like all fences made from natural materials the amount of sun is a factor, and those in the shade last longer

When should I have my brushwood fence repaired?

The main upkeep for a brushwood fence is the replacement of the roll top, and that should be done every five to seven years. You will notice that the brushwood fence will look the same for this period, but as soon as the roll top breaks down, the fence starts to weather very quickly. If the repair is delayed, then the brushwood fence would need to be repaired to a greater degree, by the re-building to its original height, and then putting a new roll top on.

Why use Majestic Brushwood

I have been specializing in repairs of brushwood fences for many years.  My main aim is to get your brushwood fence repaired, so that it looks almost the way it did when it was new.  The process for this is to rebuild the top part of the fence if required, and put on a new roll top on. This rejuvenates the fence and protects it from the weather. I will make sure that the fence repair is long-lasting, and covered under warranty. I do this by making sure that there is a good thickness of the brushwood, and that the clips are only 250mm apart. When it is completed you should not be able to move the wires.

When I started in 1984, brushwood fencing was very new, and there were very few brushwood repairs to do at the time, but as the years have gone on I have gained plenty of experience. From the pictures above you can see how fantastic a brush fence looks in a leafy and treed environment. It gives a very natural look to the area, and can be decorated with staghorns and other ornaments that can bring up the features of the fence.
